Database Health Check

You don't need to know how your website database works, you just need to know it works, right? But how can you tell?

The short answer: you can't. You can ask your web developer but you know what they'll tell you: "Don't worry about it." And unless you are a geek, you wouldn't even know what questions to ask, never mind understand the answers.

But: I know my database works, because it's working - why do I need you to see how it's working?

Because: It might not be working efficiently, and those inefficiencies might not be apparent right now, but once you've added more data it might stop working or run so slowly that pages don't load.

But: I can worry about that later can't I? When it stops working.

Yes, you can: If you don't mind your potential customers getting fed up and going to other sites for a few weeks until you notice there is a problem, and then another couple of weeks while you decide what to do about it, and then ...
